Installing memory dell 510

Could that be causing an issue? Rank wouldn't be an issue unless they were quad rank. Most systems have reduced population capacity with quad rank DIMMs. I don't think the R does though. The DIMMs themselves may not be compatible. Thanks again for your help. Good suggestion re trying the RAM on it's own first: that might be the issue here!

I'll let you know if I hit any headaches. According to the owner's manual, the R has to had the same memory config in both processor memory modules, so your best configuration would be the one you was able to do.
